  3. Coercive Control within Immigrant Family Systems

Welcome

How valuable would it be to enhance your understanding of how coercive control operates and unfolds within immigrant family systems?

We are excited to take you through this online training series to help you understand how coercive control occurs within immigrant family systems. This is part 1 of our series of courses on coercive control.

What can I expect?By the end of this course, you will be able to apply your understanding of coercive control to help you recognize the unique situations of the immigrant families you work with.
Who it is for? It’s aimed at service providers e.g., social workers, counsellors, health care workers, etc.
What do I need to know?In the first course, we explored the dynamics of family systems in immigrant communities. We recommend that you complete this course before proceeding further.
How much time will it take?Plan for 2-3 hours in total. We recommend breaking it up in multiple session of a maximum of 30 mins - 1 hr each. A good break point is at the end of an interactive exercise like a quiz or reflection.
Throughout the course, you will be presented with interactive exercises to help you retain and apply the course content.
