IslamicFamily works alongside community partners, agencies and government bodies to provide culturally and spiritually sensitive services that are not found elsewhere. Through IslamicFamily, clients have access to programs that address food and economic security, domestic violence, relevant and meaningful counselling and outreach, newcomer settlement, belonging and home, and ways to connect to the larger Edmonton community.

IslamicFamily’s Gender-Based Violence (GBV) projectaims to develop culturally inclusive and easily accessible video content to educate formal and informal care providers about gender-based violence (GBV) and be a reliable resource to those who may relate to the content, specifically Muslim women in Edmonton. This project aims to raise awareness and provide valuable insights into addressing GBV within the context of the target audience, fostering a safer and more supportive environment. The content of the videos are tailored to resonate with the unique cultural perspectives of Muslim women, ensuring effective education and engagement on this critical issue while being a valuable tool to informal community leaders often approached for guidance and support as well as survivors.
